Lansdale Officer Ready for Service with New York Army National Guard's 258th Field Artillery
LATHAM, NY -- The New York Army National Guard welcomed five new field artillery officers following graduation of the Field Artillery Basic Officer Leader's Course at Fort Sill, Okla. on Jan. 11.
2nd Lieutenant Elite Won from Lansdale, Pa. (postal code 19446) returns to the New York National Guard to serve in the 1st Battalion, 258th Field Artillery, based in Jamaica, N.Y.
The course provides new officers with in-depth knowledge in the area of fire support, observed fire, fire direction and platoon leadership as it pertains to the Field Artillery Branch.
The 1st Battalion, 258th Field Artillery's newest lieutenants achieved high marks in the course, including 2nd Lts. Elite Won from Lansdale, Penn. as Honor Graduate and both Anthony Scollante from Brooklyn, N.Y. and Eric Staufenberg from New York, N.Y. achieving Commandant's List. Second Lieutenants Chad Teger and Christopher Wallace, both from from the Bronx, N.Y., rounded out the new artillery officer graduates.
